Summit and Portage County - Private Family Practice
We are a two-location private family eye care practice that has served Summit and Portage County for over 30 years, and we're hiring a new optician/technician to join our optical team!
*Starting wage based on experience, certification, and or licensure*
Job Description:
-Assist customers in selecting their new eyewear to match the patient's style and prescription needs
-Adjust and repair frames to ensure comfortable fit
-Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and options to patients
-Perform appropriate optical-related measurements
-Determine patients' current lens prescription when necessary
-Understand how to interpret insurance benefits
-Submitting glasses orders to the appropriate insurance company
-Assisting in the ordering of contact lenses
-Teach patients how to insert, remove, and care for contact lenses
Qualifications:
-Strong customer service and communication skills
-Outgoing, Friendly, Team Player
-Ability to multitask in a fast pace environment
-Detail oriented and organized
-Experience with optical tools and instruments
-Valid optician license (preferred)
-Knowledge of vision insurance and software (preferred)
